Phoenixville’s “Blobfest” up for horror award

Phoenixville is up for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award. To comprehend this, let’s get up to speed on a few of the facts: A scene from the movie The Blob was filmed in the Chester County town, and Phoenixville celebrates with a re-enactment event every year. The “Blobfest” is now up for an award.

The 2010 event, which included a re-enactment of blob-terrorized movie-goer fleeing the Colonial Theater, is up for the horror award, which honors the scariest in movies, books, events, blogs and more.

As the Phonenix reports, Blobfest has been nominated for a Rondo for the last four years. Winners are chosen by a public vote, which ends this week.
