Philly gets Curbed
This morning marks the official launch of Curbed Philly to our city’s built-environment blogosphere. Welcome to Philly, Curbed!
Curbed.com, a website well-known for its gimlet eye and laser-like focus on real estate deals and development tidbits, started in New York City and has grown with local sites in other big cities. Philly’s version recently set sail with Liz Spikol, former Philadelphia Weekly columnist, at the helm. Curbed Philly is also joined by its sister site Eater Philly, edited by Collin Flatt, to cover the city’s rich food scene.
In a chat with NewsWorks, Curbed’s founder Lockhart Steele says he’s had his eye on Philadelphia for years.
During my time in New York, I was a religious Curbed reader, drawn in by its entertaining mix of destructoporn, photo spreads of swanky pads on the market, and bizarre tales from the wilds of urban real estate development. If it’s to be anything like the New York mothership, expect plenty of fodder for Philly’s real-estate obsessed.
