Philadelphians play Santa to dream up holiday gifts for the city

Philadelphians have a wish list a mile long, but Santa can only do so much.

This year, uwishunu asked well-known locals to play Santa and share what they think would be the best gift for the city.

Mayor Michael Nutter wants peace. A few people are calling for a sports championship — any sport, any team, just please, let us win something.

Victory Brewing Co’s Bill Covaleski would give us a jazz house. Percy Street BBQ chef Erin O’Shea would remake the subway system. And Seun Olubodun of Duke & Winston would keep the bars open ’til 4 a.m.

Funny, no one asked for the magic to bypass City Council, which would surely have a field day debating all these things.
