NJ Dems fail to block NJN takeover deal

New York’s largest public broadcasting station has secured a deal to takeover New Jersey’s state-owned television network after an attempt to block it failed.

A resolution to reject the takeover fell one vote shy in the New Jersey Senate last night.

Republican Gov. Chris Christie has said the state shouldn’t be operating a news network and can’t afford to.

WNET-TV in New York will take over the station on July 1.
