Next phase of Walt Whitman Bridge redecking begins Thursday

Another lane of the Walt Whitman Bridge will be closed as work begins Thursday on the third phase of a redecking project.

With the two outside eastbound lanes finished, working is moving inward. The fifth lane on the seven-lane bridge heading into New Jersey will be closed to traffic, as the Gloucester County Times reports.

Phase III is expected to take four months, and the whole $140 million project should wrap up in Summer 2014.
