New Jersey state parks begin to reopen after hurricane damage inspection

Most of New Jersey’s state parks reopened today following post-Irene inspections. Thirty of the 42 spots are back up and running and state-administered marinas are open for slip holders.

The remaining 12 will have staggered openings, according to the Department of Environmental Protection, and many will open at least partially for the holiday weekend. Some still need further assessments or repairs.
