NCCo Executive reacts to Tom Gordon’s run for his old job

Paul Clark says his record as New Castle County Executive speaks for itself and isn’t worried about former county executive Tom Gordon’s recently announced run to win his old job back.

“I think Tom is somewhat misguided in his thoughts. I think he’s frustrated that when he left office he left in disgrace. I think a lot of people out there are just cringing about him coming back,” said Clark.

While some speculate the Democratic primary could get ugly, Clark says waging a dirty political campaign is not his way of doing business.

“My way of running a campaign is to talk about the story, and the facts and I think we have a tremendous record,” said Clark. “Back in the day, when the county that Gordon was here, money was rolling in. I remember one of the council people saying one time, ‘It’s easy to govern when you have money, it’s much harder when you don’t.’ I think we’ve done an excellent job with the money we had.”
