Misty scene over the Delaware River in Trenton [photos]
Before Saturday’s heavy rains moved in a steady stream of onlookers stopped to see a still frozen Delaware River under 60 degree heat. It made for quite a sight. One man on the Lower Trenton Bridge a/k/a ‘Trenton Makes The World Takes’ bridge said he has lived in Trenton all his life and he never saw anything like this.
The river froze during this past week’s polar vortex deep freeze. But with this much ice melting and up to 2 inches of rain possible the Delaware River could spill over its banks tomorrow. Flood advisories are in-effect for most areas from Wilmington to New York.
