Make a Splash Day

At the Salvation Army Kroc Center last weekend a group of several area non profit organizations that work with young people held a celebration of spring and solidarity in the Make a Splash event.

The day of swimming, festival games, sports, drill team performances and music involved hundreds of area children who were glad for the fun. The event was also meant to highlight the coalition of organizations called Give Philly, which seeks to combine youth oriented social service groups to make them stronger. Give Philly members include the Boys & Girls Club, Settlement Music School, Travelers Aid Family Services of Philadelphia, United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity, YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity and the Salvation Army.
