Lower South and West Park district plan presentations
Devoted PlanPhilly readers know that the Philadelphia City Planning Commission (PCPC) has been hard at work developing the city’s first district plans as part of the comprehensive planning process. Tonight, PCPC will present the draft district plans for Lower South and West Park, and they’re looking for your feedback. Even if these aren’t your neighborhoods, there are big ideas on the table that will affect the city at large. The Lower South District plan envisions development at the Naval Hospital Site, a master plan for the area around the sports stadiums, and an extension of the Broad Street line to the Navy Yard. The West Park District plan includes recommendations for mixed-use development and light rail in the Centennial District. Beyond the marquee ideas, the district plans will drive decision-making, investment, and upcoming zoning changes. And pay close attention, greater Center City and University City/Southwest, your district planning process up next. The special Planning Commission meeting takes place, Tuesday, January 31 at 5:30pm at the Center for Architecture (1218 Arch Street).
