Hospital offers assistance in shipwreck probe

A shipwreck investigation in the Roosevelt Inlet gets some assistance from Beebe Medical Center’s radiology staff.

  Members of the team this week x-rayed several items from the wreckage of a ship found about 15 feet below the surface during a beach replenishment project in 2004.  Archaeologist Faye Slocum says experts believe the ship, which has not been identified, sank between 1772 and 1780.
