Green Party ticket denied entrance to presidential debate

    There was one candidate missing at last night’s presidential debate.

    Green Party candidate Jill Stein and running mate Cheri Honkala — a former Philadelphia Sheriff candidate — were denied entrance to the debate and arrested, according to a statement from the campaign.The pair was outside the debated yesterday afternoon in Hempstead, N.Y., and as they attempted to enter debate grounds, “the rank of police officers physically stopped them and pushed them back,” a statement from the campaign reads. “The two women sat down and the police arrested them, saying that Stein and Honkala would be charged with obstructing traffic.”

    Stein’s name will appear on most ballots next month, and is recognized by the federal government as a qualified candidate.
