Fire at Jersey City Islamic center under control

WABC-TV reports that the blaze was under control by about 6:45 a.m. Friday, about an hour after it was reported.

At its height, smoke was billowing out of Al-Tawheed Islamic Center.

No deaths or injuries have been reported.

Al Tawheed was founded in 1995 and can accommodate up to 900 people for Friday prayers, according to the center’s website.
