Despite some rain, a picturesque 4th at Delaware’s beaches [photos]

The Delaware beaches were jam packed with visitors for the 4th of July weekend. Relive the festivities in our photo gallery.

Rehoboth Beach beat the rain by launching fireworks over the boardwalk on Sunday night. And while the wet weather eventually moved in Monday, it didn’t stop thousands of visitors from enjoying the holiday weekend.

Elsewhere in the First State, rainy weather postponed fireworks displays in Newark, Dover and Wilmington. Newark will hold its fireworks display Tuesday night, July 5. Dover’s fireworks have been rescheduled for Sept. 3. Wilmington’s fireworks display will be held August 20.
