Three teens from Middletown face theft charges after police say they stole a Confederate flag and damaged property at a home in Newark.

18-year-old Cameron Canty, 18-year-old Austin Maxwell and a 17-year-old are accused of taking the flag from a home in the 2900-block of Frazier Rd. in Newark. The incident was first reported to police on Wednesday. The teens are also accused of spray painting a boat and damaging a pickup truck window at the home.

Police say they used fingerprints left at the scene to connect Canty to the theft.

All three teens are facing charges including criminal trespass and theft. They’ve all been released on bail and ordered to have no contact with the victims.
