Delaware police trying to find accused dog thief

Police are trying to find a man accused of stealing a dog from a New Castle home on Christmas day.

New Castle County Police say the Yorkshire terrier was reported missing from the yard of a home on Christiana Road, after being let out early Christmas morning.  The dog’s owners launched a search of the neighborhood in hopes of finding the dog.  They weren’t able to find the animal, but they learned from a witness that there was a man trying to sell the dog at a nearby gas station.

They called police who were able to review the station’s surveillance footage and identified the suspect as James Worthy, who lives on Freedom Trail in the Saddlebrook community in New Castle.  Other witnesses verified that Worthy was trying to sell the dog for an undisclosed amount of money.
