Delaware kindergarten teacher accused of trying to meet up with young girl

The 31-year-old teacher from Kathleen Wilbur Elementary School is accused of traveling to Dover to meet up with a 13-year-old girl he met in an online chat room.

Instead of meeting the young girl as he expected, Scott Gibson of Bear was met by police.  Detectives were tipped off to Gibson’s activities when he unknowingly solicited a police detective posing as a young girl online. He gave a cellphone number and told what he thought was the young girl to text him a time and location to meet.

Police are now reviewing a laptop that was seized from his home in addition to the computer he used at Wilbur Elementary School.  Gibson is now facing four counts of sexual solicitation of a child under 18.
