Delaware chicken company provides thousands of Thanksgiving meals to needy families
More than 500 volunteers came together on Monday for the 20th annual “Thanksgiving for Thousands” packaging event in Selbyville.
The event, hosted each year by Mountaire Farms brings together members of the community to help fill food boxes for needy families throughout the Delmarva region.
This year, volunteers put together more than 10,500 meals which will be distributed this week.
Mountaire Farms is a chicken processing plant, hatchery and a feedmill near Millsboro.
