2016 Collingswood May Fair returns Saturday
Memorial Day Weekend means the return of Collingswood’s May Fair. Now in it’s 37th year, the annual event will bring an estimated 50,000 people to the borough on Saturday, May 28, 2016.
Billed as “one mile of awesome family fun”, the event has grown so much since its inception as a modest clothesline art exhibit that last year its footprint was expanded.
Handmade art and crafts are at the heart of the fair and more than 200 vendors will line Collingwood’s main drag.
Music is another highlight, with five stages of live entertainment ranging from ska, rock, blues, jazz, and acoustic acts, like The Hackbeats, Hotsy Totsy, Coyote Jack and Pearl Street.
There will also be a vintage auto and Harley-Davidson motorcycle show between Knight and Zane Aves.
Several food courts will serve up a variety of fare and festival-goers can also purchase fresh Jersey-grown produce and flowers at the Collingswood Farmers Market.
A dedicated KidZone (between Linden and Stiles Ave.) will feature carnival games, amusement and pony rides, plus kid-friendly crafters.
An information booth at Collins Ave. will have event brochures.
Parking can be found in PATCO lots and on side streets. Please note: Haddon Ave. will be closed to traffic beginning at 6 a.m.
Well-behaved pets are welcome to join the festivities.
Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – 678 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, N.J.
