Cold weather effect SEPTA equipment
If you feel like SEPTA’s had an unusual amount of delays lately, you’re right. The cold weather is taking a toll on equipment. And riders are paying the price.
As CBS reports, the cold weather can snap power lines and pull apart rails. But a second report filed by the station says riders are more concerned with notifications than delays.
SEPTA’s Chief Control Center Officer Ron Hopkins says individual stops and stations should be made aware of delays, but in examples like the Paoli line, which is controlled partially by Amtrak, SEPTA can’t be on top all the delays.
