Cilantro recalled in New Jersey, 6 other states

A voluntary recall of cilantro from a California food company is underway in seven states, including New Jersey for possible salmonella contamination.

The Associated Press reports Salinas-based Pacific Cilantro made the announcement Friday that the Food and Drug Administration found salmonella in a sample of their herbs.

The AP says the cilantro was distributed in California, Arizona, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Indiana, South Carolina and Missouri.

Customers are advised to return cilantro that was purchased after November 16 and before December 10. The cilantro has the word “Pacific” on the twist tie and the UPC code 33383 80104.
