Christie to attend groundbreaking for Stockton’s science center expansion

Gov. Chris Christie is set to attend the New Jersey Utilities Association’s 99th annual conference at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club on Thursday.

Christie will then join Richard Stockton College administrators in Galloway Township at a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of a planned $28.6 million, 54,000-square-foot expansion of the college’s Unified Science Center.

The center, which opened last year, provides students with state-of-the-art lecture and classroom space, computer labs and conference rooms.

School officials have said the structure is a key piece in the expansion of the university’s natural sciences and math programs.
