Chester Upland School District holds funding rally, Nutter talks school security with SRC

Good morning, Feeders! Happy Tuesday, and happy first day back to work for those of you who had a three-day weekend.

Tom MacDonald will spend some time today outside Sen. Dominic Pileggi’s office for the Chester Upland School District rally. The district awaits state funding to keep things running through the end of the school year, but is a state takeover possible, too?
Tomorrow morning, look for a story from Ben Herold of the Public School Notebook. He’ll recap Mayor Michael Nutter’s visit to today’s School Reform Commission meeting on school security.

Before that, Lizz Fiedler will take a look back at the Camden police layoffs and what shape the city is in a year later. She’ll have those detail on NewsWorks Tonight.

And Peter Crimmins will be at the Walnut Street Theatre where a 60-year-old play will celebrate its anniversary on the Philadelphia stage.
