Campbell Soup Co. announces new CEO

    With the new fiscal year will come a news CEO for Campbell’s. The soup company has announced former COO Denise Morrison will officially step into the role Aug. 1.

    Morrison’s been acting as CEO and president since March, as Reuters reports, when Douglas Conant left for a scheduled surgery and long recovery. Conant will resign July 31 after more than a decade in the role.

    Morrison was named COO last fall after joining the company in 2003, and her promotion to CEO was expected.
