Camden man arrested in connection with 14 suspicious fires

Police have charged a Camden, New Jersey man for setting 14 fires over Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Charles Ricks Jr., 44, was arrested yesterday after a detective spotted him walking along Federal Street in Camden.

Ricks is charged with aggravated arson was remanded to the county jail with bail set at $200,000 cash or bond.

From July 2-4, firefighters responded to 16 suspicious fires in South Camden, 14 of which were in abandoned homes and two of which involved parked vehicles. All of the blazes were brought under control, and seven firefighters responding to the fires were treated for injuries.
