Bayhealth Medical appoints new chief operating officer

Bayhealth Medical Center has named a 30 year healthcare veteran to role of Chief Operating Officer.

Deborah Watson has been the Vice President of Operations for Bayhealth’s southern region for the last 8 years.

Bayhealth President Terry Murphy praised Watson’s appointment.  “Deborah has more than 30 years of experience in health care administration. Her leadership, vision and experience will be especially valuable as our organization faces the challenges of growing patient volume, improving health services for the community, and changes required by national healthcare reform.”

Watson has led efforts to improve Bayhealth’s oncology, cardiac and orthopaedic/rehabilitation services over the past several years.  Before that she implemented a cardiac surgery program through an affiliation with the University of Pennsylvania Health System in 2003.
