Authorities are investigating a “physical dispute” at an Atlantic City casino that reportedly involved the city’s mayor, a city councilman and others who were arguing with them.
The dispute broke out around 2:20 a.m. Sunday at the Golden Nugget. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s office confirms it is reviewing the matter — which reportedly was caught on video — but declined further comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
Mayor Frank Gilliam and City Councilman Jeffree Fauntleroy were reportedly on the same side of the dispute. Fauntleroy has called it a “misunderstanding,” while Gilliam declined comment.
Authorities have not released any video of the dispute. Atlantic City police have referred all questions to the prosecutor’s office.
