Aug. 31 Zoning Board hearing will address Holmesburg methadone clinic’s city permits

Councilwoman Joan Krajewski’s office announced earlier this month plans to appeal the city permits that would allow Healing Way, Inc. to open a methadone clinic on the 7900-block of Frankford Avenue.

An update came today from staffer Linda Lawrence, who says Krajewski’s request for an Aug. 31 hearing with the Zoning Board of Adjustment has been met. The hearing, open to the public, will be on the 18th floor of 1515 Arch St. at 1 p.m.

“We’re looking for people who live within the closest proximity,” Lawrence says of those wishing to speak up. People living and working within 500 feet of the clinic have legal standing; everyone else who wishes to oppose or support the clinic can do so through a strength-in-numbers mentality.
