An opportunity to own a piece of Papal history is available in Philadelphia
ListenAt least one of the cars used by Pope Francis while he visited last year will be auctioned off as part of the Philadelphia Auto show.
Pope Francis rode in two Fiat 500L’s when he was in town. Those cars have been donated to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and spokesman Ken Gavin says at least one of them will be auctioned off for charity.
“Current plan is one of them will be auctioned during the Black Tie Tailgate, we may reserve the right to do something with the second one as well,” Gavin said.
Auto show Chairman David Kelleher says he’s not sure how much people will be willing to pay for the Francis Fiat.
“Where do you put the number on history. I think we have a good shot at returning six figures!” Kelleher said.
Money from the sale will go to four Catholic charities.
