Court rules in favor of victim’s family in Adnan Syed’s ‘Serial’ case

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika had loads of questions about the deal and her role, so she deferred a decision on whether to accept or reject it.

The court also said Wednesday it will hear appeals from the victim’s family.

Prosecutors dropped charges against Adnan Syed on Tuesday in the 1999 killing of Hae Min Lee, a case that was chronicled in the hit podcast “Serial."
