40 face drug charges in Camden County, N.J.

Authorities say a Camden County police officer is among 40 people charged in connection with a drug trafficking network.

Authorities say the police department alerted prosecutors that Officer Ashley Bailey’s husband was a member of the network.

Authorities say Bailey accessed confidential information and alerted targets of the investigation. The 28-year-old is charged with official misconduct, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and making terroristic threats.

Bailey’s husband’s brother is among three people suspected of leading the network, which operated in Camden and the surrounding suburbs.
