$3.9 million in national arts funding for tri-state organizations

    The National Endowment for the Arts announced $77.17 million in grants yesterday to be awarded to nonprofit organizations around the country.More than 900 grants were approved for projects in arts education dance, design, literature, music, theater and other areas of concentration.
    Grants were awarded under three categories: Art Works, Arts in Media and Partnership Agreements.Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware will get a nice chunk of the funding — about $3.9 million for 53 organizations. More than half of those organizations are in the Delaware Valley.Some of the bigger grants in the region include $65,000 for the Barnes Foundation, $75,000 for Scribe Video Center Inc. and $698,500 for the Delaware Division of the Arts.The NEA has the full list of awards by state.
