PHL gets two “paws up”

Philadelphia International Airport has won a new distinction. The award is for catering to the four-footed set.

Philadelphia International Airport has been named one of the top ten most pet friendly airports by the website tripswithpets.com.  The airport was commended for it’s seven pet relief areas designed to give animals a place to visit the fire hydrant, or in this case the faux fire hydrant.  Airport spokesperson Victoria Lupica describes the Pet Ports.

“All of our pet relief areas are fenced and they range in size from 250 to 600 square feet, they have a four foot high fence with a latch gate, and then we have four inches deep mulch, a bench, we even have a faux fire hydrant, and bio-degradable pet waste bags so it’s very safe,” said Lupica.

Lupica says they cater to pets traveling with their owners and also service dogs.
