Another 11 Israeli hostages were freed by Hamas on Monday, as Israel prepared to release more Palestinian prisoners in another swap under a temporary cease-fire deal.

The Israeli hostages ranged in age from 4 to 84 and included Abigail Edan, a 4-year-old girl whose parents were killed in the Hamas attack that started the war on Oct. 7.

The last-minute delay had created a tense standoff on the second day of what's meant to be a four-day cease-fire.

On the second day of the temporary cease-fire, it is not yet clear how many captives Hamas will release nor the number of Palestinians Israel will free.

Under its terms, Israel and Hamas agreed to a four-day halt in hostilities.

The Cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved a cease-fire deal with Hamas to facilitate the release of some hostages. Hamas has not yet responded.
