“The Republican establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election.” So says former Trump senior advisor and campaign CEO Steve Bannon in an interview on 60 Minutes that aired Sunday night. The GOP currently controls the presidency and both chambers of congress, yet are seemingly in disarray. They are unable to pass any significant legislation. President Trump has been publicly feuding with party leaders. The President also made a deal with Democrats to raise the debt ceiling, much to the surprise of the debt-adverse Republicans. Today on the show, we’ll talk about the state of the GOP, what the future hold for them, and what needs to happened for them to more effectively run the government when we are joined by Republican consultants RICK WILSON and JOHN BRABENDER.
