STACEY ABRAMS joins Marty as part of a WHYY live member event to talk about her personal story and politics. In 2018, Stacey Abrams was the first black woman major-party gubernatorial nominee in any US state when she ran for Governor of Georgia. After a narrow loss in that race, now there’s talk swirling around her about a possible run for the Senate or even the Presidency. Marty talks to Abrams about her life and career in and out of politics, her advocacy for voting rights, her experience delivering the State of the Union response, the romantic suspense novels she’s written, and her book, Lead from the Outside: How to Build Your Future and Make Real Change.
