Rocky relations between U.S and Canada

Listen 13:30

Guest: Christopher Sands

Relations between the U.S. and Canada are rocky these days, particularly following the G7 summit and Trump’s tweet calling Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is “very dishonest and weak.”  The Trump administration has stalled NAFTA trade negotiations and imposed steel and aluminum tariffs, both of which have heightened tensions with one of our closest allies and trade partners.  CHRISTOPHER SANDS, director of the Center for Canadian Studies at Johns Hopkins University explains why Trump and Trudeau are at odds, what the conflict is really all about and if there’s a way out.
