Radio Times in Review: P-Funk’s Bernie Worrell, novelist Annie Liontas, Jewish delis

Listen 00:49:44

Guests: Bernie Worrell, Annie Liontas, Ted Merwin

Coming up on today’s edition of Radio Times in Review, we’ll listen back to Marty’s talk with composer and Parliament Funkadelic keyboardist, BERNIE WORRELL. The synthesizer innovator died last week at the age of 72. We’ll also revisit Marty’s conversation with ANNIE LIONTAS about her debut novel, Let Me Explain You, now out in paperback.  The book is an examination of the Greek immigrant experience through the lens of an allegedly dying patriarch’s advice to his family. And, we’ll hear about the culinary, cultural, and even political history of the American Jewish deli.  We spoke about cured meats and kibbitz when we were joined by TED MERWIN, author of Pastrami on Rye: An Overstuffed History of the Jewish Deli.
