National Politics Roundup
Listen
Hour 1
We’re taking stock of the race for the White House this hour and examining how the Presidential candidates are faring. It’s been a tough few weeks for Obama’s re-election campaign – the Wisconsin results, more bad economic news about the drop in family net worth and his verbal gaffe that “the private sector is doing fine.” The Romney campaign and the GOP have picked up on Obama’s remark and are hitting him hard with it. The race has already taken a nasty tone and people predict it will only get worse. We’ll look at the campaigns, the money, the ads, and the supporters. We’ll also discuss how independents, the swing states, and the upcoming Supreme Court decision on the health care bill could affect the election. Our guests are SCOTT HUFFMON, an associate professor of Political Science and director of the Social & Behavioral Research Lab at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina and MOLLY BALL, staff writer covering national politics at The Atlantic.
