Medical marijuana was legalized in Pennsylvania more than 2 year ago. While dispensaries are opening, patients are signing up and physicians are getting registered, the roll out has caused some confusion and raised some questions including why no growers in Philadelphia. Today on the show, we’ll talk about the current state of prescription cannabis with Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter STEVE TWEDT. Also joining is medical researcher at The University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, MARCEL BONN-MILLER, to tell us about the challenges of medical marijuana research. We’ll also hear from SHAWLAN JAMES – she is on the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board as a patient advocate, which helps guide the state in implementing medical marijuana laws.
