A new look a grief

We tend to to think that grief after the death of a loved on means stage after stage of misery, that we slowly, if ever, climb out of. Columbia professor of clinical psychology Dr. George Bonanno asserts that there are no distinct stages and there really is no need to focus narrowly on our suffering. He has written “The Other Side of Sadness”. We will also hear from writer Jill Smolowe, she has written a memoir called “Four Funerals and a Wedding.” Smolowe describes her own surprising process of grieving after losing both her husband and sister as well as two other family members.
