Shirley Min introduces us to the center of this inspiration, a little girl named Piper. Shirley reports a medical mystery sent her family searching for answers. Now the hospital will continue looking for more solutions, because of Piper’s condition.
School is underway all across Delaware and the region. At MOT Charter High School they are digging in for the second year of their new expansion. The layout of a school says a lot about the state of education through the decades. Education reporter Avi Wolfman-Arent explains.

The Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council came out with the first indicator of the state of Delaware’s financial situation since the budget was passed in June. They report that the state has $43.5 million less revenue than the amount on which lawmakers based this year’s budget. Revenue projections in Delaware include unclaimed property, also know as ‘escheat.’ In his monthly segment, Dace Blaskovitz sits down with lobbyist Bob Byrd to talk about all that.
