First for Friday, September 5, 2014

Election day is Tuesday. We’re changing up our First format slightly so we can present back to back interviews with the candidates in some of the contested races. We begin our program with the State Treasure’s contest between Ken Simpler and Sher Valenzuela.

Ken Simpler

Ken Simpler leans on his finance background to convince voters that he’s the best choice to replace Chip Flowers as State Treasurer.

Sher Valenzuela

Republican candidate for state Treasurer Sher Valenzuela talks about her campaign, her qualifications and the upcoming primary against fellow Republican Ken Simpler.

Now let’s turn to the contest for the US Senate and the right to face Senator Chris Coons in November.

Kevin Wade

Republican candidate Kevin Wade has high hopes for Tuesday’s primary against Republican challenger Carl Smink. Wade even has plans already if he’s victorious in the November race against U.S Senator Chris Coons.

Carl Smink

Drawing on divine inspiration, Republican Carl Smink hopes to win Tuesday’s primary so he can bring his conservative values to the U.S. Senate.
