Doctors and “big pharma”

Listen

Guests: Charles Ornstein, David Grande

Under a provision of the Affordable Care Act, the government is now divulging information about payments to doctors by pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers. Today, we discuss the newly disclosed information and its implications with CHARLES ORNSTEIN, senior reporter for ProPublica, whose “Dollars for Doctors” series has been uncovering information about the relationship between for-profit medical companies and doctors. We’ll also be joined by DAVID GRANDE, assistant professor of Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine and director of policy at the Leonard Davis institute of Health Economics.
