Guests: Alex Rice, Mo’ne Davis, Scott Bandura, Steve Bandura
Over the past few weeks, the Taney Dragons have taken Philadelphia and the Little League World Series (LLWS) in South Williamsport, Pa. by storm. The Dragons, who qualified for the LLWS this August, became the first Philly team to make it to the tournament. The team reached the U.S. semifinals before falling 6-5 to Jackie Robinson West of Chicago last Thursday. Pitcher Mo’ne Davis became the first female in LLWS history to throw a shutout and in the process has become a national inspiration. In this hour of Radio Times, we are joined by various members of the Taney Dragons baseball team – manager ALEX RICE, pitcher MO’NE DAVIS, catcher SCOTT BANDURA, and his father STEVE BANDURA – to discuss the Taney Youth Baseball Association, their Little League World Series run, the national attention they’ve received, and the future of Philadelphia youth baseball.
