Listen 00:48:42

Guests: Lindsey Rupp and Mark Zandi

As Black Friday approaches and consumers gear up for the holidays, some of the nation’s largest retailers have concerns about the vitality of the year’s biggest shopping season. Despite an improving job market and economy along with lower gas prices, it appears that shoppers are looking for deeper discounts and may be buying less. We’ll start off the hour taking a look at some of the trends that have retailers feeling cautious this year. Our guest is Bloomberg News retail reporter LINDSEY RUPP. Then, is the economy on the upswing? We’ll talk jobs, wages, recovery, and interest rates with economist MARK ZANDI.
