Woman awake after being hit in head by stray bullet in Germantown shooting
A Germantown woman who was hit in the head by a stray bullet from a nearby shooting is now conscious.
Fox 29 reports the woman is awake after undergoing surgery for serious head injuries.
Last week, Brian Hickey of NewsWorks reported the shooting happened just before 3 p.m. Friday on the 5800 block of Morton Street. The woman was struck in the right side of the face by the stray bullet while she was asleep on the second floor of her home.
The woman was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where at the time, she was listed in critical condition.
Family members tell Fox 29 the woman underwent surgery on December 23.
