With Giants’ Super Bowl win, Lombardi Trophy returns home

When the Patriots failed to pull off that Hail Mary last night, Giants fans erupted in victory. Down came the confetti and out came the Lombardi Trophy.

And after being shipped to Indianapolis for the big game, the trophy will be on its way home when it heads back to New Jersey with the Giants.

The Lombardi Trophy is made by Tiffany & Co. in Parsippany, where the World Series, NBA Championship and Rose Bowl trophies are also made. It’s been that way since the first Superbowl in 1967.

The Star-Ledger has more details on the trophy and its history in its interview with Tiffany’s vice president of business sales, Tom O’Rourke.
