Weekend News Briefs: 4/1 – 4/3

Friday — Police are searching for a man who robbed K-mart with his young daughter in tow. Friday morning, the man emptied a jewelry case in the store off Roosevelt Boulevard as his daughter watched. He made off with between $1,000 and $2,000 worth of jewelry in a gold Ford Taurus. He’s described as a white man in his 30s, weighing about 150lbs and is about 5’10” with a goatee. He was wearing a black or blue sweatshirt with white on the sleeves.

Saturday — A single-car accident on Roosevelt Boulevard proved fatal for the passenger early Saturday morning. The male passenger after the car he was riding in hit a tree on the Boulevard near Langdon Street. The driver was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. Both men were in their 20s.
