Video: Architect Gene Kohn talks about design for Dranoff hotel on South Broad
On Tuesday, the City Planning Commission approved a bill that changes the zoning for a property at Broad and Spruce streets to make way for developer Carl Dranoff’s proposed SLS International hotel, which would be the tallest building on South Broad Street. The bill was recommended for passage by a City Council committee last Wednesday, and could come up for a full Council vote as early as next week.
The 149-room hotel tower, which will also house a bar and restaurant and 123 condominium units, was designed by the firm of Kohn Pedersen Fox, and architect Gene Kohn was on hand at Tuesday’s Commission meeting to explain the design.
